You'll be able to enroll in benefits about a week after your start date. If you haven't already, you will be receiving a New Hire Enrollment packet at your home address in the very near future. The packet will contain several pieces to help you navigate the enrollment process. You will have 31 days from the date on the New Hire Enrollment Notice included in the packet to enroll in benefits. Don't miss this deadline, or you will have to wait until the next annual enrollment period to enroll in coverage unless you have a qualifying life event. When do benefits begin? If you are a benefits-eligible associate, benefits begin the first day of the month after your start date. If you started May 15, your benefits will begin June 1. If you started June 1, your benefits will begin the same day.
What do I need to know about covering dependents? If you cover dependents in a First Data plan, you need to complete the dependent verification process. If you don't complete this important step, your dependents will be dropped from coverage and you won't be able to enroll them until the next year's annual enrollment.
